Everything is better with mice: #34

Spring of a starving artist continues with the micefication of Mary Cassatt’s 1878 painting “In the Loge” — a gift to my dear friend Annah, who has become such a regular presence on mice notes that she earned her own tag (“Annah mouse“). I appropriated this painting for her because, on the one hand, the original bears an uncanny resemblance to Annah, and on the other, she is my trusted opera companion, probably the only one with whom I can go and not worry that I will have murderous impulses in the process. (Leonora approves of her as well).

Mixed media: watercolors, pencil on not really watercolor paper with the use of an innovative technique of chewing the brush to make it hair-thin for small details.
